Rosie Aldridge

Born in Hertfordshire, Rosie is currently in her final year as the H. F. Trust scholar at the RCM International Opera School where she studies with Janis Kelly; she previously studied with Kathleen Livingstone. Rosie was recently selected for the Glyndebourne Jerwood Trust Young Artist Programme where she played the role of Lady-in-Waiting - Macbeth conducted by Vasily Petrenko and covered the role of Baba in the revival of the Hockney production of The Rake’s Progress conducted by Vladimir Jurowski at the Glyndebourne Festival.
Competition successes include the RCM Concerto Competition where she performed Elgar’s Sea Pictures conducted by Martin André; the RCM English Song Competition; and the Cuthbert Smith Prize in the Lies Askonas Competition. Rosie was previously awarded the MBF Sybil Tutton Award and a Star Award from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust; she is also supported by the Josephine Baker Trust. Recent roles include: Cleone - Alessandro (London Handel Festival); Hippolyta - A Midsummer Night’s Dream (RCMIOS); Baba the Turk/Mother Goose - The Rake’s Progress (BYO); Third Lady - Die Zauberflöte (RCMIOS); and Dorinda - Il Pastor Fido (London Handel Festival).
Rosie has enjoyed extensive oratorio and concert experience including: Elijah at the Barbican with Sir Thomas Allen; Dvořák’s Stabat Mater at the Cadogan Hall; Bach’s Christmas Oratorio at St John’s, Smith Square; Bach’s St John Passion with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra; Elgar’s The Music Makers at St Martin-in-the-Fields with the London Oriana Choir; and Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Recent performances include: Elgar’s Sea Pictures at St George's, Bristol conducted by Matthew Coorey; Verdi Requiem at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle; and the role of Public Opinion in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld (RCMIOS). Future projects include: Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius at the Barbican; Berlioz' Les Nuits D’Été at the West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge; and the roles of Eduige - Rodelinda (London Handel Festival); Lady Jane - Patience at the Musée d’Orsay, Paris; and Marcellina - Le Nozze di Figaro (BYO).
