Recently described by Robert Beale for the Manchester Evening News as “ a young pianist set to make a major impact”, Slava Sidorenko began his musical education at the age of five with Irina Bazarova (at the Primary Music School) in Kharkov, Ukraine and later with Victoria Lazovaya (at the Special Music School) and Igor Prihod'ko. In 2003 he was awarded an Associated Board (ABRSM) scholarship to study with Norma Fisher at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he won many major awards including (in his third year) the coveted RNCM Gold Medal - participating also in masterclasses with Stephen Hough, Alexander Melnikov, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Nelson Goerner, Richard Goode, amongst others. His studies continued until 2010 on the first RNCM International Artist Diploma Course with the generous support of the Royal Northern College of Music, the Musicians Benevolent Fund’s MBF Music Education Award, the Philharmonia Orchestra Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, The Worshipful Company of Musicians and The Boise Foundation. His numerous competition successes include first prize in the Luzenko International Piano Competition in Ukraine, Moray International Piano Competition in Scotland, Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship and Jacques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition. He was also a finalist in the Busoni International Piano Competition in 2007 and awarded the Silver Medal of The Worshipful Company of Musicians in 2008. Slava has appeared as recital and concerto soloist in the Ukraine, Germany, Italy and many parts of the UK. He made his debut in 2009 at the Wigmore Hall, as winner of the Jacques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition, receiving glowing reviews and at the Bridgewater Hall, also with the Manchester Camerata, in 2010
